Zulte Waregem extended their winning streak following last weekend’s triumph over Beerschot. They secured a commanding victory against Seraing.
Jelle Vossen broke the deadlock shortly after half-time with a penalty kick. However, just before the break, there was a concerning incident involving the Zulte Waregem striker. Vossen lost consciousness after colliding with Lepoint.
“I have no idea what happened,” he told Het Nieuwsblad. “I was trying to change direction, and suddenly I felt a hard impact to my head. I’m not exactly sure what transpired, but it seems I was knocked out for a moment.”
Although the team’s staff wanted him to stay indoors during halftime for further assessment, Vossen decided to continue playing. “Well, these things can happen, and ultimately, I chose to start the second half. Moments later, I opened the scoring from the penalty spot. It’s always important to get the first goal,” Vossen explained.
