Horror at Argenteuil Hospital after the Death of Two Nonagenarians Sexually Assaulted, Suspect in Custody

On Tuesday, October 24, 2023, Samir B. – suspected in the case of the death of two nonagenarians at Argenteuil’s Victor-Dupouy Hospital after sexual assaults – was once again arrested, according to our colleagues at Le Parisien.

On October 14, 2023, Argenteuil’s Victor-Dupouy Hospital (Val-d’Oise) was the scene of a terrible incident. Two elderly women, aged 93 and 95, who were residents of the geriatric service, were sexually assaulted and died shortly after the assaults. One of them suffered a cardiac arrest a few hours later, and the other died from respiratory problems three days after the incidents, according to information from La Gazette du Val-d’Oise. The alleged assailant, 44-year-old Samir B., was arrested as he was leaving the room of the first 93-year-old victim. This was not his first offense; in fact, he was already known to authorities for previous sexual assaults. His arrest was made possible thanks to the security service at Victor-Dupouy Hospital, which had identified him following a possible previous intrusion. The second victim, aged 95, was able to testify about the assault before her death.

Custody Renewed for the Assailant

After being brought before the court on October 16, 2023, Samir B. had been placed under judicial supervision pending his trial in November. However, the prosecution was not satisfied with this decision and appealed, requesting his detention. On Tuesday, October 24, Samir B. was arrested again, this time in the Val-d’Argent-Nord district in Argenteuil, as reported by Le Parisien. Prosecutor Pierre Sennès assured our colleagues that he is closely following this case, confirming that this arrest is part of new investigations. The investigation has been opened for “sexual assault on vulnerable persons” and is in the hands of the departmental security of Val-d’Oise. One big question remains: is there a correlation between the assaults and the deaths of the two victims? So far, no links have been established between the two events, but the ongoing investigation, if it provides evidence, could change the nature of the charges against Samir B.
